About Me

Derek Liang is a landscape and travel photographer based in Southern California. He was born and raised in San Francisco Bay Area before he moved down to Orange County to attend university. After graduating, he stayed around pursuing a career in software engineering. During that time, he discovered his passion for photography.

Around the same time, he became passionate about traveling and exploring the world which complemented his growing interest in photography. Whether it is enjoying the coastline back in Orange Country, road tripping up to the Eastern Sierras just for the weekend, or exploring the beautiful places across the world, he enjoys capturing those fleeting moments and more importantly, sharing his content to inspire others to see the true beauty in this world we are so fortunate to live in.

Since then, he has continued to challenge himself, reaching out of his comfort zone to grow not only as a creative but also build a business around his passion for photography. Through his passion to create incredible content, he has worked with world class hotels, brands and companies that share the very same creative vision.
